Group #1, I really liked your videos! They were very engaging and entertaining. They really kept my attention. I have to agree with your highlights, that it is very important to create a relationship and build rapport with your students. When that occurs, more learning takes place as the students engage further. I also agree that adult educators are learners. They learn from each other through experience. It is important to allow the collaboration to occur for the most learning in each situation. Very nice job!
ReplyDeleteGroup one your final demonstration was very creative. I was fully engaged while watching each video. Your group made the assignment look relatively easy. It can watched easily to see what steps needs to be done to complete the project. Your group collaborated with one another very well and in a creative and timely fashion to ensure the assignment get done. The tools and techniques you provided above will show learners what is expected to complete the assignment. I like your group learning creative ability making sure that are learners can comprehend the steps and process it took to complete the project. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteVery good comment, Ray! You said what I wanted to say! :)

I loved the creativity in your presentation. I will definitely be checking out Powtoon for my next project.
ReplyDeleteOne of the key takeaways you all mentioned that really struck me is that adult educators are learners and in building relationships and sharing everyone will learn from each other. I love this concept!

Hi Group 1,
ReplyDeleteYou had some great suggestions for tools to use on group projects. I have used Hangouts, but it had never really occurred to me to use it to communicate with group members. I hadn’t heard of PowToon. It looks like you had a great time creating your videos with it! Thanks for highlighting the importance of showing genuine interest in learners. Since we can all learn from each other, it is important to draw on that understanding to show real concern for each other in learning environments.

Group 1 - I liked the video layouts you had for your intro video, survival, and final demonstration. It was concise and broken down evenly. I like the idea of using icebreakers or "motivation grabbers" to make a connection...or perhaps develop a relationship. I never really thought of using Google hangouts for video conferencing. I thought of it more as a text platform. I will consider it for my future graduate courses!
ReplyDeleteGroup 1, you did an excellent job in your final demonstration. Fantastic job! I have enjoyed your blogs and all of your presentations throughout the semester. I love the videos and the animation that you used. It was very interesting and engaging. Great Job and thank you for your hard work!

Jill, Mary, Darbi, and Kristin,
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful videos you created! They are very short, very precise, very interesting and creative! I like that you divided them into several short videos. The amount of the information in each video is just right! The formats are interesting. The videos look quite professionally made.
I also like the video that Darbi created in your demonstration. The voice and image in the video are very clear.
Suggestions:
1. In one video, it is quite. You can either add voice or music to make it interesting.
2. You have duplicated information in your demonstration. You can delete them and use a short video to briefly talk about the overall design and implementation of your project and the other information required in the syllabus. When you talk about one assignment, for example, literature review, you can immediately show the main ideas from your assignment. Then you introduce the next assignment, followed by the main ideas from the next assignment. In this way, your readers will have a clear picture of the structure and main content of each of your assignment.
3. In your demonstration, I noticed that there’s one slide that is blank. You can delete that slide. Otherwise, your readers may think that that is the end of your demonstration.
4. You can add the link for each of your assignment when you that assignment so that readers who are interested in more detailed information, they can check that assignment easily.
5. If you do want some readers to contact you, you can provide your contact information.
